Education in the age of AI

Applying Robotics & AI

High School Robotics & AI Lab

Our main job as education professionals is to prepare our students for the future. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already transformed our lives drastically. From car manufacturing and medicine search, to autonomous driving, sports game highlights, and hotel descriptions – all are automated, AI enabled, computer-generated texts these days.

The Robotics & AI Labs is a turnkey, state-of-the-art modular learning space designed to enable students rotation between the AI Stations. Each configuration includes more than 1,000 instructional hours and provides learners with practical hands-on activities exposing them to multiple disciplines and various scenarios in which artificial intelligence takes control of our lives. It gives students a unique and rich learning experience to ensure that they are ready for their careers, college, and life-in-the-2030s.

Autonomous Transportation Module

It is only a matter of time before on-demand, driverless cars will take everyone, everywhere. By 2030 (in just 10 years, even before first-graders graduate from high school!) an estimated 25% of all car sales will be self-driving vehicles. In tandem with autonomous ground transportation, drones have become the most promising airborne technology – from emergency blood delivery, to disease control,  environmental aid, and even pizza and Amazon orders delivery. Autonomous tech is changing how we and our stuff move around.

This program is using smart and programmable cars and drones, safe for in-class use, and fully loaded with sensors, that allow students to develop an understanding of autonomous transportation as it is in the 2020s and into the autonomous world upon us starting in the 2030s.

Subjects covered:

Navigation, collision avoidance, self-driving, self-parking, calculating torque, solving a maze, thrust gravity, flight basics and flight control.

What’s included?

A typical AI Station includes programmable autonomous cars and programmable drones, computers and software to program them, curriculum and accessories.

Industry 4.0 AI Module

One of the industries that maximize the benefits of AI is autonomous manufacturing and warehouse automation. Today, cars are being produced without a human touch thanks to AI and the affordability of robots. From picking products at a warehouse to getting them ready to ship, autonomous robots can quickly and safely support manufacturers and other industries, if fact, a computerized warehouse allows Amazon to deliver millions of products literally “next day”!

It is essential as educators to prepare our students to face the upcoming new industries and be proactive with these changes. AI LAB curriculum is guiding and preparing them to have a real experience towards the challenges of the future before they graduate and choose their career path.

Subjects covered:

Warehouse Automation, Sorting and Stacking, Visual Sensing, Assembly Lines, Process Automation and optimization, Data Analysis and collaborative robotics.

What’s included?

The module includes robotic arms, conveyor belts, computer vision kits, computers pre-loaded with software to program them, curriculum and accessories

Humanoid Robotics Module

Rosie the robot the TV show from the ’60s isn’t science fiction anymore. We have robots that can mop and wash floors, bake pizza, flip burgers, and even make coffee without human touch!

The human-robot interaction field is dedicated to understanding, designing, and evaluating robotic systems for use by or with humans. By understanding and developing these user experiences, humans and robots can collaborate with each other.

Students are getting real-life experience and development of real-world applications in this field. Hands-on experiences are helping them to master these scenarios and prepare them for the new challenges as these new technologies arise.

Subjects covered:

Introduction to Humanoid Robots, Math and Soccer playing robots, game design, human-robot interface, storytelling, visual perception (face detection, face recognition, object detection, and recognition), tactile sensing, Synchronous Motion, Math and Trigonometric functions, Logic, and Problem Solving.

What’s included?

A typical AI Station includes humanoid robots, computers pre-loaded with software to program them, curriculum, and accessories.

Space Exploration Module

Space exploration has captured the imagination of generations. In recent years we are seeing a race to “democratize space” and give access to everyone who wishes (and can afford) to go to space. Companies like SpaceX, Virgin Galactic  and Blue Origin are selling tickets to space, and it won’t be long before we could simply hitchhike to mars.

This kit, originally developed by NASA, provides building materials and instructions for building a fully functional model of the Curiosity Rover currently exploring Mars. (well, minus the lasers and the reactor of course) This gives students the ability to work in teams on sub assemblies, from electronics, to mechanical features (such as the six-axles suspension system) and over to programming the rover.

Subjects covered:

Wide range of engineering concepts, mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, electronics, programming, mechatronics, locomotion of the rover, math to calculate motion pathways, collaboration and process synchronization

What’s included?

A typical AI Station includes all the parts needed for assembly and building of the rover, mechanical, motors, wiring, structural and electronics parts, computers and software to program it, curriculum and accessories.
